The full registration fee includes attendance at all lectures, entry to the Exhibition, refreshments and lunch for the duration of the event and conference material. It also includes the Conference Dinner at Dynamic Earth on Wednesday 27 August and the drinks receptions on Monday 25, Tuesday 26 and Thursday 28 August. Please note that places at the reception on Monday night are limited and places must be booked when registering.

One Day Attendance Fee
A one day registration fee is available to Members and Non Members only. When registering, please state clearly which day you will be attending. Please note the one day fee does not include the social programme activities.

Industry Technology Programme Fee
The registration fee for the Industry Technology Programme will be £90.00 a day for Members and £120.00 a day for Non Members.  Please state clearly the day(s) that you would like to attend.  Please note that those registering for the Industry Technology Programme will not be admitted to sessions taking place in the Photon08 conference or the social programme.

Only single en-suite bedrooms are available on campus and are within a short walking distance of the lecture theatres. Rooms prices are based on a per person per night and include breakfast.  The cost will be £39.00 per night. Please indicate on the registration form the nights you require.  If you require additional nights please contact Heriot Watt Conference Centre directly.  

Social Programme
The drinks receptions and Conference Dinner at Dynamic Earth are all included within the full registration fee.  An optional evening meal is available on campus on Monday 25, Tuesday 26 and Thursday 28 August at £13.00 per person per night. Additional places at the conference dinner can also be reserved at £52 per person + VAT.

The Concessionary rate is available to student and retired members of the Institute of Physics and those on a career break or a low income.

Non Members

On-line Registration:
Register online
to take advantage of the discounted registration fee. On-line registration is available only to those paying by debit or credit card. All payments will be processed securely using WorldPay and confirmation of your payment will be sent by e-mail once the transaction is complete.

PDF Registration

Confirmation of Booking
On-line - Confirmation of your booking will appear on the screen prior to entering payment details. Please print this page for your records. Confirmation will follow via mail within five days of registering.
Registration via hard copy - Confirmation of your booking will be sent within ten days of registering. If payment is not enclosed with your registration form, you will receive a pro-forma invoice which must be paid prior to the conference.

Value Added Tax
Charges shown in this document are exempt from VAT unless otherwise indicated. Where VAT is applicable it is shown and calculated at the current standard rate of 17.5%. If the rate is altered as a result of government legislation charges may be adjusted accordingly. A tax invoice/receipt will be issued to those indicating that this is required on the registration form. The Institute's VAT registration number is 461-6000-84.

Registrants who cancel their booking before the cancellation deadline of 11 August 2008 will receive a full refund minus a 20% administrative charge. All cancellations must be in writing (please note that organisers cannot accept any cancellation made over the telephone, unless it is accompanied by a cancellation of the booking in writing). No refund can be made to those notifying cancellation from 12 August 2008.
